The Adjudicatory Meeting for Boston Encore Harbor Held by the Massachusetts Gaming Commission

It has been determined that Boston Encore Harbor (EBH) accepted unauthorized bets on a basketball contest on February 2, 2023. EBH informed GAN on February 2, 2023, that it had accidentally provided wagering on an unapproved event. This was particularly the women's basketball contest between Notre Dame College and Boston College, BC. The error happened because the NCAA women's basketball was omitted from the prohibited game's roster. EBH offers event management for sporting activities utilizing GAN technology.

Any Massachusetts school that WynnBet identified as unauthorized was blocked by GAN. The list prevents the system from accepting any activities from forbidden institutions. However, the blocks did not apply to this women's basketball squad. As the game had not yet begun when EBH realized the error, they immediately froze the ticket and voided this part of the parlay. One name for Boston College was banned out of the two in the system, according to GAN Vice President Rob Lekites. Boston College and Boston College Eagles were the names of the two. In case the teams are given slightly different titles, he also mentioned that GAN has since added more names.

This will serve as a deterrent to similar incidents in the future.
